BREAKING 1000
In addition to oil and gas services, MIRA operates one of the largest trucking fleets in the country serving the cement industry. With over 1,000 trucks plying the highways of Java from West to East, our trucks transported more than 2.2 million tonnes of cement in 2007, and are expected to carry up to 3.1 million tonnes in 2008. |

In 2007, Indonesia consumed approximately 35 million tonnes of cement, of which around 15 million tonnes were consumed in Java alone. If we compare those figures to the annual cement consumption in the entire continental Australia of around 6-to-7million tonnes, we get an idea of the size of the cement market in Indonesia, and the growth prospect of cement transportation within the industry
Toll roads currently extend through most of West Java and parts of Central and East Java and Sumatera. Within the next five to ten years, the plan is to complete the Trans Sumatera and Trans Java highways, and if feasible, link the two with a bridge across the Sunda Strait that separates Java and Sumatera.
Because of Indonesia’s relatively undeveloped cargo railways (there are more passenger trains than dedicated cargo trains in service today or at any other period), the trucking business is a huge and highly competitive one in Indonesia. Each day, tens of thousands of fully laden trucks ply the main road artery along the Northern coast of Java from East to West and vice-versa.
MIRA trucks serve the three leading cement producers in the
country with a combinedmarket share of more than 70%.

Our trucking fleet has recently been strengthened with 250 brand new trucks that have gradually been put to service since March 2008. By the time all 250 trucks will have taken the roads in September 2008, our entire fleet will total more than 1,000 trucks, comprising of heavy-duty Tronton Trucks, Dump Trucks, Flat-bed Trucks and Trailer Trucks of various makes and sizes.
Our trucks transported some 2.2 million tonnes of cement to market in 2007, comprising roughly 15% of cement producer in Java during the year. With more trucks in service, we expect to carry more than 3.0 million tonnes of cement in 2008.
In addition to cement, MIRA has also had a growing number of shipments for other goods. This includes fertilisers for Petrokimia Gresik and flours and grains shipment for Indofood, among other goods.
